Business Owner Charter

Home exchange and appropriate travel organizations may be considered for CHEC membership by agreeing to conform to the following CHEC Code of Conduct:

• Members and other home exchange/travel businesses will be treated with fairness and honesty.
• Member recruitment will be conducted honestly and independently. Unless written permission is given, objectionable practices include but are not limited to:
  • Any process that accesses competitors’ databases
  • Sending unsolicited emails to members of any established club
  • Posing as an exchanger in an effort to harvest email addresses
  • Hacking a competitor’s server
  • Quoting text without proper accreditation
  • Copying and/or using competitor’s images
  • Any posting of deceptive information whatsoever
    
    
• CHEC club members agree to inform CHEC of possible violations to this Code by other home exchange or travel organizations.
• All communication with members and other home exchange/travel businesses will be timely and responsive.
• Every effort will be made to resolve all valid complaints in a professional and timely fashion.
• All information and claims presented to members and other home exchange/travel businesses and press and media will be 100% accurate. All services will be supplied as agreed.
  
  CHEC club members agree to inform CHEC of possible violations to this Code by other home exchange or travel organizations.
  
  Businesses that receive complaints from their members or from other organizations agree to attempt to resolve the problem with the complainant directly or through the CHEC mediation process. If continuing complaints are lodged which are not resolved through mediation, CHEC membership will be reviewed and may be revoked.
  
  Agencies that are not members of CHECtravel, upon incontrovertible proof of any of the aforementioned objectionable practices, shall be listed as rogue agencies on the member section of the CHECtravel website. Individuals who are members of rogue clubs will not be accorded membership in CHECtravel. The effectiveness of CHECtravel’s enforcement policies will be enhanced by the number of legitimate home exchange clubs that join CHECtravel.
